Here is a list of some great beaches for sand sculpture. Give the "squeeze test" a try on one of these beaches and you'll see what we mean. If you don't know what we’re talking about, be sure to look at the “Sand Selection” section of the DVD "Sandcastles for Everyone." Keep in mind that  beaches are constantly eroding during the winter and replenishing during the summer. So after a period of time or after big changes in weather conditions, the sand on a beach may be different. You may also find that the sand at a particular part of a beach is better than at a different location on the same beach. You must rely on the "squeeze test” to determine if the sand is “sculptable.”
