Welcome to the Learning Center!

SSI wants you to have a successful, fun experience sculpting, which is why we created the DVD “Sandcastles for Everyone.” But if you want to learn even more about the history of sand sculpture, methods, and tricks, this is the place to come. Check out the special learning tools to the left, such as Todd’s Q&A, “Captain Castle’s Blog,” where he answers your sand sculpture questions.

Or, call our sand sculpting help line and speak with a professional sand sculptor Mondays 2 to 4 p.m. PST at (310) 378-5559. Please note this is not a toll-free number, and that messages cannot be returned. Also, your question may be used in Captain Castle’s Blog.

Post a question or get answers to your sand sculpting questions here!

As you learned in the DVD, good sculpting sand can be found at the beach, lake, river and sandbox. All you need to do is perform the “squeeze test.” Click here for a list of places with great sand.
